How to take care of acne-prone skin in 6 easy steps

Do you suffer from acne?

Might be you wrestle with low self-esteem and even socially isolate yourself with the constant feeling of being under confident about your skin that is set off by anger or anxiety,

We at Shirley Conlon Organics understand you.

A good skincare routine will significantly improve your skin condition by removing excess oil, clearing your pores and healing blemishes faster

Here’s what to do to take care of acne-prone skin.

1.Gently cleanse your skin.

Wash your face with a mild cleanser using your fingertips or a soft cloth. Never scrub aggressively or use rough pads. Make sure you use the right cleanser. Try our olive and castor bean cleansing milk made with skin-loving plant botanicals to gently nourish your skin’s natural sebum barrier.

Avoid using harsh bar soaps or antibacterial hand washes because they may irritate your skin. If you wear makeup or become sweaty, cleanse your face twice a day and double cleanse at night.

2.Use a mild toner

Spray a few drops of toner to a cotton ball or pad and smooth over your face. This action removes excess oil and leftover makeup, tones, fights blackheads, and blemishes. If you have dry skin, a hydrating toner would be the best choice for your skin. Our rosewater hydrating toner locks moisture onto your skin’s surface restoring hydration while stimulating collagen production.

3.Vitamin C

5.Follow a low glycemic load diet.

Nourish yourself with healthy foods. Low glycemic foods include veggies, fruits, nuts, legumes, or minimally processed grains. Researchers found that participants who ate low glycemic food for 12 weeks had a significant reduction in acne and insulin sensitivity levels, enjoying a clear and smooth skin in comparison to their counterparts who ate carb-dense diets.

6.Listen to your skin

Instead of using over-the-counter medication, you can use apple cider vinegar to treat your skin. Take zinc and fish oil supplements to reduce acne. Instead of using benzoyl peroxide and retinol, use a honey and cinnamon face mask.

They are rich in antioxidants, fight bacteria, and reduce inflammation as well. Spot treating acne with tea tree oil also helps to reduce acne. Applying green tea and witch hazel to acne-prone skin reduces inflammation and promotes wound healing. Regular exfoliation, cutting back on dairy, reducing stress, and exercising regularly also keeps your acne in check.
